The 109th meeting of the Bodhi Toastmasters Club was held on October 5th with the theme “World Teachers’ Day.” The majority of the members compromising from leading educational institutions, it was a perfect platform to celebrate the theme.TM Shreya Paudel, SAA initiated the meeting with few ground rules and the virtual meeting guidelines. The meeting was then, handed over to the Presiding Officer, TM Kumar Thapa, who welcomed the guests. The 109th meeting was extra special as the Vice President Education, TM Chandrayan P. Shrestha held an induction for 8 new members in the club, viz; TM Banita Mittal, TM Alexandra Wrigley, TM Shirish Shrestha Halwai, TM Sharmila Pradhananga, TM Samriddhi Shrestha, TM Sabina Singh, TM Yamuna Mananshar and TM Rohini Pradhan respectively. Also, each new member was assigned a mentor to accomplish their Toastmasters goals. TM Niladri S. Parial as TM Shirish Shrestha Halwai’s mentor, TM Chandrayan P. Shrestha as TM Yamuna Manandhar’s mentor, TM Diptee Acharya as TM Sharmila Pradhananga and TM Banita Mittal’s mentor, TM Dilip Rana as TM Sabina Singh’s mentor, TM Kumar Thapa as TM Samriddhi Shrestha’s mentor and TM Niroj Maharjan as TM Rohini Pradhan’s mentor. Each new member and existing member vowed to help each other to create a cohesive learning and growing environment.
VPE, TM Chandrayan also recognized members, who have completed their level and earned accolades in other clubs, during the meeting. TM Bishnu Paneru and TM Diptee Acharya were recognized for completing Level 4 under Dynamic Leadership respectively. TM Kumar Thapa was facilitated with Better Evaluator award in Tourism Toastmaster Club that was held on September 22nd. TM Niladri S. Parial was recognized as Star of the Day at Dharan Toastmasters Club on September 28th and TM Dinesh Basnet was recognized as Better Table Topic Speaker in Chitwan Landmark Club on 1st October.
The TMOE, TM Mohini Shrestha commenced the meeting with a brief introduction to the theme and wishing all the educators in the club. She then handed over the meeting to the General Evaluator of the evening, TM Ekta Lamichhane to introduce the direct and indirect evaluators.
The first segment of the meeting featured speeches witnessed two versatile speakers, TM Sangita Ghotane Gurung, delivering Level 1 Project 2 under Innovative Planning and TM Anjila Bista , delivering Level 2 Project 3 under Team Collaboration. Their evaluators TM Dinesh Banset and TM Jenny Manandhar respectively evaluated the featured speakers.
The second segment witnessed TM Banita Mittal in her maiden role as Table Topic Master. The TTM kept the audience captivated with interesting topics that complimented the theme.
The third segment, the evaluation session was lead by General Evaluator, TM Ekta Lamichhane along with her team of indirect evaluators that comprised of TM Dilip Rana as Grammarian, TM Bishnu Paneru as Ah- Counter, TM Aniska Shakya as Timer, and TM Niladri S. Parial and TM Shreya Paudel who co handled the technical aspect of the meeting.
To bring light to the theme, TMOE of the evening, TM Mohini displayed a small celebratory video to thank all the teachers.The winners of each segment were TM Anjila Bista as the better featured speaker, TM Bishesta Chaudhary as Better Table Topic Speaker, TM Dinesh Basnet as Better Evaluator, and TM Banita Mittal as Better Auxiliary Role Player.
As the meeting saw the installation of 8 new members, TM Chandrayan P. Shrestha gave a brief tour of pathways.
