Bodhimeets 113th: Theme – Every Cloud has a Silver lining

Harmonizing with the current situation of the pandemic, “Every cloud has a silver lining” was the theme set for Bodhi’s 113th meeting which was scheduled for 9 November 2020. TM Niladri S. Parial as Sergeant At Arms pleasantly began the meeting unfolding some ground rules and stating the objectives of the club. Presiding Officer TM Chandrayan P. Shrestha highlighted the theme and introduced the TMOE Aniska Shakya. She informed about the structure of the meeting and talked about the theme briefly.

As a part of her project, TM Diptee Acharya organized and moderated a panel discussion on the topic “COVID-19: Fearing the unknown” whereby TM Neil Pande, Guest Suswopna Rimal, and Captain Vijaya Lama graced their presence as the panelists. The session was followed by a Q&A session where guests enthusiastically put their questions and cleared their curiosities.

Subsequently, the table topic session was led by TM Rashmi Sharma. In her maiden role, she beautifully poured down some interesting table topics which were highly relevant to the theme. During this session, Gavellier Bisheshta successfully bagged the award of a better table topic speaker.

Finally, TM Hari Shyam Shrestha from Bhaktapur Toastmasters Club responsibly led the evaluation session as the General evaluator. He was backed by his team of direct and indirect evaluators – Grammarian TM Mohini Shrestha introduced the Word of the day and made notes of grammar usage, Ah counter TM Yamuna Manandhar kept her attention to unnatural pauses, unintended sounds, and filler words, Timer TM Seema maintained the punctuality and ballot counter TM Shirish Shrestha collected votes and presented awards towards the end of the meeting. Meanwhile, TM Kumar Thapa as the direct evaluator was given the responsibility of evaluating the panel discussion.

To sum it up, this was another fabulous meeting for Bodhi with 74 participants that ended on a positive note boosting the confidence in many which encouraged them to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
