The 138th meeting of the Bodhi Toastmasters Club was held on 10th May 2021 with the theme “Power of Positive Thinking.” TM Samriddhi Shrestha, SAA initiated the meeting with few ground rules and the virtual meeting guidelines. The meeting was then, handed over to the Presiding Officer, TM Kumar Thapa, who welcomed the guests.
The TMoE, TM Yamuna Manandhar commenced the meeting with a beautiful quote “If you put negative thoughts into your mind, you are going to get negative results. It’s just as true that if you put positive thoughts in your mind, you will be a recipient of Positive results. -By Lau Haltz”. She then handed over the meeting to the General Evaluator of the evening, TM Sushma Shrestha to introduce the direct and indirect evaluators.
The first segment of the meeting featured speeches that were supposed to have three speakers but only witnessed two speakers as TM Diptee Acharya had some technical problems so, she couldn’t attend the meeting. The two versatile speakers were TM Rohini Shrestha, delivering Level 2 Project 1 with the speech title “The magic of communication styles” and TM Shreya Poudel, delivering Level 4 Project 1 with the speech title “All about transition”. Their evaluators TM Alexandra Wrigley and TM Anjila Bista respectively evaluated the featured speakers.
The second segment witnessed TM Yogesh Chhetri as Table Topic Master. The TTM kept the audience captivated with three interesting topics which were taken by the guest audience.
The third segment, the evaluation session was led by General Evaluator, TM Sushma Shrestha along with his team of direct evaluators and indirect evaluators that comprised of TM Mohini Shrestha as Grammarian, TM Seema Agrawal as Ah- Counter, TM Aniska Shakya as Timer, TM Sabina Maharjan as Ballot Counter and TM Ranjeet Thapa who handled the technical aspect of the meeting.
The winners of each segment were TM TM Rohini Shrestha as the better-featured speaker, Guest Vinita Goyal as Better Table Topic Speaker, and TM Anjila Bista as Better Evaluator. The meeting was attended by 57 members and guests virtually. The Ballot Counter reported about the meeting at the end and the TMoE of the next meeting was taken up by TM Anjila Bista.
